Serial rapist suspect arrested in KZN

"I can confirm that a man was arrested this morning, but I cannot comment further because only Colonel [Gerard] Labuschagne comments on the case," said Captain Katlego Mashego.

Labuschagne earlier in the week said the man allegedly targeted young black women aged between 19 and 21 in and around the Johannesburg and Pretoria areas.

He said the man allegedly approached a group of women and invited them to celebrate his birthday with him at a nearby restaurant or bar.

Lured to a hotel room

The man later allegedly asked one of them to accompany him to fetch his sister or a friend, taking a metered-taxi into Hillbrow or central Johannesburg.moncler shop

Here he allegedly lured his victim to a hotel room under the pretext of fetching his sister or the friend, or his luggage.

Once inside the room he allegedly raped the woman and held her overnight.

Labuschagne said the man allegedly threatened his victims so they did not scream.

He allegedly also tied some of them up and has had a firearm with him on one occasion.
